The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) provides free, full-text, high-quality scientific and scholarly journals, aiming to cover a wide range of subjects and languages. Currently, it lists 2,229 journals, with 633 searchable down to the article level. As of May 2006, the DOAJ includes 97,152 articles, which can be searched by title, author, subject, or through journal contents. For inclusion in the directory, journals must allow users the rights to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full texts of their articles.
